IoRinse molecular iodine mouth rinse is available in three different types of packaging 1) a ready-to-use 1 liter bottles; 2) ready-to-use 12 oz bottles; or 3) as a 1 liter concentrate bottle.

We recommend the 1 liter ready to use, or the 1 liter concentrate, for dental office use. The concentrate product works well with hygiene scalers.

If you are looking to provide the product to your patients (as a gift or for sale) for at home use we recommend the 12 oz bottle option.

Why choose IoRinse?

As you are likely aware, evidence has suggested that the oral cavity is a strong site for infection and transmission of the novel coronavirus. Dental offices are now encouraging patients to gargle with a variety of different rinses prior to treatment to help curb the spread of the virus.

In the current times of working with infectious disease, why would you not use the strongest and most effective mouth rinse available today as a pre-procedural step in your practice? It is simple, effective, safe, and adds an extra layer of safety for you, your staff and your patients. It simply makes sense to do your part in minimizing the potential for exposure to infectious disease.

IoRinse is the first ever oral care product powered by molecular iodine. Why does this matter?

  • 33X stronger than povidone iodine
  • 17X stronger than chlorhexidine gluconate
  • Does NOT cause microbial resistance like chlorhexidine

If you are currently using a povidone-iodine product or chlorhexidine mouthwash, this is a good step, but IoRinse is proven to be much more effective at

Commonly Asked Questions About IoRinse & Molecular Iodine

A: The main ingredient is Molecular Iodine. It has undergone rigorous testing by independent laboratories and Universities. It is recognized internationally for its superior efficacy. Clinical studies have been performed validating the effectiveness of ioRinse. A pilot clinical study was conducted by a board-certified Periodontist. In that study, ioRinse was found to be very effective and superior to the leading, existing products. In a second clinical study, conducted by a leading, independent, research organization, the results were overwhelmingly favorable, as well.
A: All of the ingredients in ioRinse are recognized as safe by the FDA. Furthermore, our main active ingredient is molecular iodine, which is an essential nutrient. It is required by our bodies for optimal health.
A: Yes. Shellfish allergy is not due to the iodine content, but rather to a protein in shellfish unrelated to iodine.
A: During imaging procedures, a large volume of contrast media is injected directly into the bloodstream. That can shock the system. Contrast media also may contain other ingredients shown to cause strong sensitivity reactions which are not present in our mouth rinse. Since ioRinse is not intended for ingestion and because only a very small percentage of the population have a true iodine allergy, a reaction to iodine contrast media does not necessarily mean that someone will be sensitive to ioRinse.
A: Iodide is a salt of iodine which is used to treat iodine deficiency and protect from radiation poisoning. Molecular iodine, the main active in ioRinse, accounts for the far superior performance of ioRinse, compared to iodide.
A: Twice daily, morning and night, unless instructed otherwise by your dentist.
A: There is no evidence in the published literature that iodine promotes resistance development that other agents cause. So this is not a concern with ioRinse.
A: ioRinse™ begins working immediately and its effect can be noticed within a few days of use.
A: Iodide salts are actively transported into the thyroid, where they accumulate. Molecular iodine does not preferentially build up in the thyroid gland and excess is excreted in the urine. Also, ioRinse is not for ingestion, so thyroid toxicity is not a concern with ioRinse use.
A: It does not stain and it has a pleasant flavor. There is no iodine taste.
A: Yes. ioRinse is available from professional dental offices. It is not sold in stores currently.
